RCTQ joins education briefing for incoming DepEd secretary Sara Duterte
RCTQ Director Dr. Gino Gonong and PNU Vice President for Academics Dr. Jennie Jocson join the education sector briefing for incoming DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte, organized by the Office of Sen. Win Gatchalian.
RCTQ joined other education stakeholders in a virtual briefing for incoming Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary and Vice President-elect Sara Z. Duterte on 24 June 2022 organized by the Office of Senator Sherwin Gatchalian.
The briefing sought to present to VP-elect Duterte a focused discussion on the state of basic education in terms of key statistics on learner performance.
RCTQ Director Dr. Gina Gonong joined PNU Vice President for Academics Dr. Jennie Jocson in welcoming the incoming secretary. Dr. Gonong discussed the area of teacher quality and its challenges in the country.
Sen. Gatchalian, Chair of the Senate Committee on Basic Education, Arts and Culture, discussed data points that show declining learner performance.
The briefing concluded with practical recommendations for the first 100 days that will deliver impact results in the next six years. Dr. Gonong shared proposed immediate solutions on teacher quality reforms.
